Sour Plum Drink Recipe
This is a refreshing thirst quencher, a great appetizer drink and goes well with spicy food.
Ingredients:
- 6 preserved sour plums
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 small lime (calamansi)
- hot water
- water
- ice cubes
Directions:
1. Add sour plums and sugar in a mug. Add just enough hot water to cover the sour plums. Stir to dissolve the sugar, and let it sit for a few minutes until the sour plums are softened.
2. Cut the lime in half, squeeze in the lime juice and discard the seeds.
3. Transfer the sour plum mixture and squeezed lime into a serving glass. Add water and ice cubes. Serve cold.

I think I had something like this in a pho restaurant once. It was really refreshing — thx for the recipe!
Oh my gosh! I’m so glad you brought up the calamansi in here. Back in the Philippines, we have a similar common drink…it’s like the lemonade of the Philippines. Actually, I am growing some calamsi and they are bearing A TON of limes! I’d love to try your version!
thank you for sharing . It’s refershing and the best part is it’s easy to make.
