Kale, Banana Strawberry Smoothie
For best results, use ripe or overripe banana so that the drink will be naturally sweet and hence reduce the need for sweetener (honey or maple syrup).
- 80g kale leaves*
- 1 ripe or overripe banana
- 100g strawberries hulled
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp maple syrup (or honey) to taste
- 300ml coconut water
* coarsely torn leaves from roughly 5 large curly kale stems
You also need:
- a high-powered smoothie blender such as the Nutribullet or Ninja
Pulse all the ingredients in the blender until smooth. Serve immediately.
