Kale, Banana & Strawberry Smoothie

Kale, Banana Strawberry Smoothie

For best results, use ripe or overripe banana so that the drink will be naturally sweet and hence reduce the need for sweetener (honey or maple syrup).


  • 80g kale leaves*
  • 1 ripe or overripe banana
  • 100g strawberries hulled
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (or honey) to taste
  • 300ml coconut water

* coarsely torn leaves from roughly 5 large curly kale stems

You also need:

  • a high-powered smoothie blender such as the Nutribullet or Ninja


Pulse all the ingredients in the blender until smooth. Serve immediately.

  1. Sometimes I am the opposite. When I have a smoothie like this at the start of the day, I allow myself to indulge in more “sinful” foods for the rest of the day :p

  2. Not really a smoothie fan, but this one looks relatively light yet quite yummy!
