French Bean Fried Rice
This simple French bean fried rice had lots of French beans in them. I do takeaways from Saizeriya quite often, and one day I decided to buy an additional packet of rice to make easy fried rice the next day. I choose French beans as the main “greens” and fresh ingredient in the fried rice.

INGREDIENTS
MAIN FRESH INGREDIENT: FRENCH BEANS
Since the main fresh ingredient is French beans, I use half the amount of French beans (in weight) with respect to the weight of the cooked rice. This is to ensure that there will French beans in every spoonful, giving the fried rice a nice colour (and since there are no other fresh ingredients except for the egg :P)
THE REST OF THE INGREDIENTS
The rest of the ingredients: 1 egg, minced garlic, chopped spring onion, cooked overnight rice, soy sauce + fish sauce and a special “powder” ….
CHICKEN SEASONING POWDER
The “special powder” in the fried rice is chicken seasoning powder. It is a useful seasoning in place of MSG and to me, it made much difference to the taste of a home-cooked fried rice.
STEP-BY-STEP PHOTOS (FRENCH BEAN FRIED RICE)
Heat oil in wokpan, add an egg and start to scramble the egg immediately. Cook it until half set.
Then add French beans, garlic and a bit more oil, fry briskly until fragrant.
Add rice & seasonings (pictured above). Then stir fry briskly on high heat until everything is well mixed and the rice grains become dry.
When the rice is done, stir in some chopped spring onions and it is done!
Enjoy it as a one-dish meal, or to go with some side dishes.
Who doesn’t love a good fried rice! This looks fluffy, delicious and packed full with good stuff.
